I have spent nearly a decade turning my camera toward the weathered barns of Michigan’s Thumb. These quiet structures have long held stories of resilience, loss, and grace, and I listened. What began as a personal act of remembrance slowly became the MI Eye on the Thumb Collection — a body of work that holds the soul of a vanishing rural world.
Through my lens, the barns are no longer just wood and tin. They become keepers of memory, gentle witnesses to time, and quiet invitations to live fully in the present moment. "Grey Barns", the first book in my trilogy, is both a love letter to the land that raised me and a tender record of what remains.
